Urgent - school closure Friday 18th February

18 Feb 22

URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Met Office has today issued an urgent weather warning for Friday 18th February. Storm Eunice is due to hit the UK around 3am tomorrow with high winds and possible gusts up to 100mph. This could cause significant damage to buildings, risk to life from flying debris and falling trees, closure of roads and transport, and power cuts, particularly in coastal areas. There will also be significant disruption to public transport.

Portsmouth City Council has been reviewing the latest intelligence and the storm has now been declared as a Major Incident. To ensure the safety of staff and students, they have advised that all schools close tomorrow as a precaution. Trafalgar School will therefore be closed to all staff and students tomorrow.

As a result of the pandemic we are now well prepared for situations like these.  Teachers will deliver live lessons from home tomorrow. Students must follow their normal timetable on google classrooms and take full part in their learning.

Please stay safe.
