Pastoral Support

At Trafalgar School we are committed to ensuring that students are safe, happy and healthy to support them achieving their potential and making the best progress they can in their learning. We believe passionately in Relational Practice and that this creates an environment whereby students are well known, are valued and respected.

We have high expectations of behaviour, attendance and punctuality and we aim to support students by working with individuals, parents and outside agencies. The pastoral team have positive and professional relationships with students and, by knowing students well, work to improve all student outcomes by responding to their individual needs.

At the heart of the team sits the Form Tutors - each vertical tutor group has two co-tutors who are responsible for building the strongest possible relationships with students in their care. Overseeing the tutor teams are the four Heads of House, each supported by an Assistant Head of House.

The Pastoral Team Structure

Each House Team has responsibility for safeguarding, monitoring progress, celebrating achievements as well as ensuring the highest standards of behaviour throughout our school and around our local community.

Supporting our House Teams are our wider Inclusion Team: a safeguarding lead, attendance lead and restorative practice lead. Further support is offered through our three heads of centre: Compass, ARC and SEND.
