Activities Week

Activities Week 2024

At Trafalgar School, Activities Week is a core part of our curriculum offer. As a relational school, we value this week not only for the enrichment it offers our students but also the opportunity it provides to build and develop positive relationships with peers and adults.

Where did students go last year?

What is on offer this year?

Based on your feedback we have increased the range of local activities that run alongside our UK and European experiences. For all activities, the mode of transport has been shared in the booklet and we would urge you to consider this when making your final choices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deposits are £10 per day trip. If the trip costs less than £10, the deposit will be the cost of the trip.

Residential trips require a higher deposit to the trip companies to secure the place for your child. This can be up to £150 to secure a place on a European residential trip.  For these trips, details about deposits will be sent with your child's confirmation of place letter.

No. We use deposits as a down payment on tickets and to secure our trips.

We have worked hard to ensure a wide variety of trips and activities are on offer each day. In the event that your child does not find something that they would like to sign up to, you can select mystery activity. These activities will always be free.

Choice allocation begins after the 20th October 2023. All forms handed in by this date are sorted first. Forms handed in after this date will still be allocated their choices where possible, but popular activities are more likely to be full.

Some trips are very popular and have a capped number of places. When first choice trips are full, we move to second and then third choice.

Your child should be happy do any of the choices they select.

Activities Week is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet new friends. We are unable to allocate activities based on friendship groups.

This is where we offer for sale any remaining places on trips that are not full. A list of trips with spaces are sent to you a week before and if your child does not have a trip on that day, they are able to book and pay for a trip at the pop up shop.

We use your money to pay for your child’s ticket and share of transport costs. Once we have paid these, we are unable to offer a refund.

As a relational school we value Activities Week not only for the enrichment it offers students but also the opportunity it provides to build and develop relationships with peers and staff. Your child's attendance record includes Activities Week and holiday requests will not be authorised.
